![]() ![]() The defense linked to the weapon itself, in fact, turns out to be a very important game mechanic for the economy of the game itself. For this reason, if you approach the game the same way you did for Bloodborne, you won't have a very easy life. The FromSoftware game focused its gameplay entirely on attacking and dodging, without taking into consideration parries in Lies of P, on the other hand, this aspect is also added to this equation to take into consideration. The first difference that immediately catches our eye between Lies of P and Bloodborne is defense. Let's start by listing first of all all the three major differences we found between Lies of P and Bloodborne. 2 Lies of P and Bloodborne similarities. Before leaving you to the actual article, we also recommend that you take a look at this article where we talk about some games similar to Bloodborne to play if you miss the streets of Yharman. Furthermore, the similarity between the world of Lies of P and that of Bloodborne immediately catches the eye, so much so that many have begun to find similarities between the two titles.įor this reason, in this article, we have decided to offer you a comparison between the two titles, underlining three differences and three similarities that we have managed to identify thanks to the release of the substantial demo in recent months. ![]() In the game, as we have been able to see over the months, we can expect several points of contact between the elements of FromSoftware's soulslike classics, including the soul system and melee combat. This Neowiz soulslike puts us in the shoes of Pinocchio (a revisited version, of course), a puppet who in the city of Krat, where a strange disease and the rebellion of mechanical beings are ruining the city. Perhaps the most telltale sign here that this isn't Bloodborne is that it's running at a much smoother 60 frames per second than FromSoftware's gothic PS4 masterpiece.Lies of P is about to be released for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series S on September 19, 2023. Light and heavy attacks, familiarly mapped to a controller's right bumper and trigger by default, can be chained into multiple strikes. You can run past mobs, but only with some deliberate kiting. The game looks and moves like a younger sibling of Bloodborne or Dark Souls 3, with the sort of measured pace that requires care in dodging big enemy strikes. Whatever the origin story, Lies of P is 100% committed to the bit. If they'd just started it a couple years later, maybe it would've been a Winnie the Pooh game again. Lies of P is such an odd thing-I'd love to know if the developers decided the world desperately needed a dark and moody Pinnochio videogame first, or decided to make their own version of FromSoftware's Bloodborne before poring through the public domain to find the right puppet. The twist, which I am still trying to process, is that it also seems like it's pretty damn good. But the fonts? That's a level of shameless reproduction that makes me hiss through my teeth a bit, which is what I wanted to do when I started up a demo of Lies of P, the Pinnochiosouls game we've been mildly obsessed with since last year. There are soulslikes that copy the difficulty of Dark Souls, or the corpse runs, or the forlorn fantasy worlds. ![]()
